Sermatech Ethylene
pHampler™ Reactor Sampling

The pHampler is Ethylene's patented reactor sampling and pH measuring system for agitated reactors. All wetted surfaces are PTFE for near universal high temperature corrosion resistance. The reactor manway is kept closed, eliminating fugitive emissions to dramatically improve operator safety. The pHampler dip tube is reinforced with schedule 80 pipe for mechanical rigidity.

The pHampler sampling system is available in two designs:

pHampler ELP (external pipe loop)

Continuous circulation loop provides liquid sampling, addition, sample return and in-line pH measurement and control. Liquid is pulled from the reactor and pumped through a PTFE lined or alloy pipe loop that can contain various analytical equipment such as in-line pH probes, specific ion sensors, RedOx probes, etc..

Standard systems include a pHampler Dip Tube mated to a loop constructed of fluoropolymer lined, carbon steel headers. Pumps, valves and other equipment varies with application and customer needs.

These are turn-key system that are tailored to fit your specific needs with regard to pumps, valving, instrumentation and dimensional layout.

pHampler VSA (vacuum sampling and liquid  addition)

These systems are designed for liquid  addition and manual sampling of reactors using vacuum. The sample is drawn into the vertical sample leg, then, drained back into an external sampling valve. These systems include a pHampler dip tube, lined headers and a FLO-VU Sight-Float Check Valve that prevents over-filling and subsequent  contamination of your vacuum system.

These are system are also tailored to fit your specific needs.

Both system are CAD designed and fabricated to specific requirements. Most systems are designed with wetted surfaces of PTFE. PFA or Tefzel® to assure maximum corrosion protection and product purity. However, the complete pHampler system is available in stainless steel for less corrosive applications.
